Terms and Conditions: Kinetic Video Projects

These Terms & Conditions (“T&Cs”) govern participation in the MODE Choreography Competition (“the Competition”), organised by Kinetic Studio Limited (“the Organiser”).
By registering, paying the entry fee, or otherwise participating, all entrants (“Competitors”) agree to be bound by these T&Cs.
The Competition is held in an R18 nightclub environment. Entry to the venue and participation in the Competition is strictly restricted to those aged 18 years and over.

Only individuals who are 18 years of age or older on the date of the event may compete or attend.
All Competitors and attendees must present a valid photo ID (NZ driver licence, passport, or Kiwi Access/Hospitality NZ 18+ card) to gain entry. No ID, no entry.
Entry will be refused to anyone underage, or without valid ID, with no refund of entry fees.

Entry fee is $15 per person, non-refundable.
Payment must be made in full at registration via the official Squarespace link provided by the Organiser.
Each crew must nominate a Team Captain, who is responsible for submitting the full crew fee in one transaction.
Maximum 6 dancers per crew.
An individual may only compete once — entry into multiple crews is not permitted.

Maximum performance length: 3 minutes.
Dance style: open format (any style or fusion). No penalties for single-style or mixed-style routines.
Music:
- Must be submitted in WAV or high-quality MP3 format 2 weeks prior to the event.
- Late submissions risk disqualification.
- Teams must bring a USB backup on the night.
- Explicit lyrics are permitted, given the R18 nature of the event. However, discriminatory, hateful, or illegal content is strictly prohibited.
Props: allowed if safe, essential to the performance, and can be set up/cleared within 30 seconds. Prohibited items include liquids, glitter, confetti, pyrotechnics, and heavy/sharp objects.
Safety: No lifts above shoulder height or movements that pose undue risk. Competitors are responsible for ensuring their routine is safe.

The event will be held in a licensed R18 nightclub venue.
Competitors and attendees must comply with all venue rules, security requirements, health & safety obligations, and New Zealand law.
The venue reserves the right to refuse service of alcohol or remove individuals from the premises at its discretion.
Any misconduct, harassment, intoxication, disorderly behaviour, or damage to property may result in immediate disqualification and removal without refund.

By participating, Competitors grant the Organiser the right to record, photograph, and use their performance for marketing, archival, and promotional purposes without additional compensation.
Competitors retain ownership of their choreography but consent to its capture and public display.

Participation is at each Competitor’s own risk.
The Organiser, venue, and staff are not liable for injury, loss, or damage arising from participation or attendance.
Competitors are responsible for their own belongings and personal insurance.
By entering, Competitors agree to indemnify the Organiser against any claims arising from their actions or participation.

The Organiser reserves the right to amend the Competition rules, reschedule, or cancel the event if necessary (e.g., due to safety concerns, insufficient entries, or force majeure).
Entry fees will not be refunded except in cases of full event cancellation by the Organiser.
