Kinetic Showcase Terms & Conditions

Presented by Kinetic Studio

Welcome to the Kinetic Showcase – a celebration of dance, creativity, and community in Aotearoa! To ensure a safe, enjoyable, and well-run experience for everyone, please read and agree to the following Terms & Conditions, which apply to all attendees and participants.

1. Admission and Participation

  • All attendees must hold a valid ticket for entry. Tickets are non-transferable and non-refundable.

  • Showcase participants must register by the deadline and follow all relevant rehearsal and performance guidelines.

  • Kinetic Studio reserves the right to refuse entry or participation at its discretion, including for non-compliance with these terms, disruptive behaviour, or safety concerns.

2. Conduct and Rehearsals

  • All participants and attendees are expected to treat each other, staff, and volunteers with respect and care.

  • Harassment, discrimination, or abusive behaviour will result in immediate removal from the event without refund.

  • Participants are encouraged to attend all rehearsals to ensure team coordination and stage readiness. One absence out of eight sessions is acceptable without affecting participation. Please notify Kinetic in advance.

  • If you do miss a session, we expect you to catch up via recordings or practice at home.

  • Rehearsal times, teachers, and course structure may be adjusted if necessary due to availability, logistics, or artistic direction. Any changes will be communicated as early as possible.

3. Health and Safety

  • All participants and attendees must comply with any applicable health and safety protocols, including mask use or distancing if required.

  • Anyone feeling unwell or showing signs of illness should not attend rehearsals or the event.

4. Filming and Photography

  • By attending the Kinetic Showcase, you consent to being filmed or photographed, with content potentially used for promotional and archival purposes by Kinetic Studio.

  • Personal filming and photography are allowed but must not obstruct performances or the enjoyment of others.

5. Liability

  • Kinetic Studio is not responsible for any personal items lost or stolen at the venue.

  • Attendance and participation are at your own risk. Kinetic Studio accepts no liability for injury, loss, or damage except in cases of gross negligence or wilful misconduct.

6. Event Changes and Cancellation

  • Kinetic Studio may alter the event schedule, practice structure, line-up, or format if required due to unforeseen circumstances.

  • In the case of cancellation:

    • Attendees will be eligible for a full refund (excluding processing fees).

    • Participants will not be refunded except in exceptional cases approved by Kinetic Studio. This is due to advance costs incurred for venue, teaching, and production.

7. Pricing and Discounts

  • Kinetic Studio aims to keep the Showcase affordable while covering event-related costs.

  • Discounts are offered as advertised or at the studio’s discretion. For queries about discount eligibility, please email us.

  • Course fees are non-refundable due to upfront costs required to hire and plan the event. With the exception of condition 6 in these T&Cs.

8. Complaints and Feedback

  • We welcome your feedback. For any concerns, please email info@kineticstudio.co.nz.

9. Governing Law

These terms are governed by the laws of New Zealand. Any disputes will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of New Zealand courts.

10. Parental Consent (for participants under 18)

  • All participants under 18 must have parental or guardian consent to join.

  • By registering a minor, the parent/guardian agrees to these terms and accepts responsibility for the participant’s conduct and attendance.

11. Use of Choreography and Music

  • Choreography and music used in the Showcase are for learning and performance purposes only.

  • Participants may not reuse or distribute choreography taught in classes without written permission from the choreographer or Kinetic Studio.

12. Event Content and Replay

  • Kinetic Studio may produce full-length or edited video content from the Showcase.

  • By participating, you consent to inclusion in such materials unless you notify us in writing before the event.

13. Dress Code and Costumes

  • Participants must follow any costume or outfit guidance from their instructor or Kinetic Studio.

  • Kinetic aims to keep costume requirements affordable, but minimal effort (such as colour coordination or themed items) may be requested to support group aesthetics.

14. Class Cancellations and Catch-Up Sessions

  • In the rare event that a rehearsal is cancelled (e.g. due to illness, venue issues), Kinetic Studio will aim to reschedule.

  • If a make-up session cannot be arranged, resources such as practice footage or online guidance will be provided to support progress.

15. Communication

  • Important updates will be sent via email or official messaging channels (e.g. Instagram DM, SMS if consented).

  • Participants are responsible for checking for updates and ensuring their contact details are current.
